ESC Summer Slide Show 2012

Wednesday 20th June at the Alpine Club - Dave Wynne-Jones will present "Mongolia: Exploring the Tavn Bogd on Ski" - an illustrated account of the Spring 2011 ESC ski-mountaineering expedition to the highest summits of the Mongolian Altai. Topics will include holy summits; eagle hunters and the dangers of high altitude cooking.

All members and their guests are welcome to attend. A buffet supper at 6.30pm will be followed by the slide show at 7.30pm, and there will be a cash bar. Cost is £10.

Adding Photos to the Website

The Galleries section of the website displays photos taken by members, and is a useful way of letting everyone know what is going on in the club - from days out in Scotland to longer tours in the Alps and further afield.

All members of the club can add galleries and photos (as long as they are logged in), and a new help page has recently been added to the website which describes how to do this.

Alan Blackshaw OBE VRD

The Blackshaw family has asked us to advise members that they have had to postpone the Memorial Service planned for 2nd February.  It will be rearranged for a later date and details will be posted on this news item.

About half of the tours on the Club Programme are now either full or have only one or two places left. If you are keen to join one of the trips in 2012, it would be wise to book now, so that you can get the choice you want.
