UK meets

The club organises meets throughout the year in the UK. These meets include weekend meets ski-touring in Scotland, summer meets, training meets, slide shows, social events and the AGM weekend.

Scottish meets (January-March 2012)

Scottish ski touring has an ambience to be savoured where finding the best snow/crossing the burns/being inside a blizzard all adds to the mountain experience.

The 2012 programme concentrates on February and March, the heart of the Scottish season before the alpine touring season takes off. We are hoping for a repeat of the good conditions of the last few winters.

The club dinner will be held in Killin on the usual weekend at the end of January. This is less than 40 miles from Stirling so it is more accessible
than some locations. There is lots of good touring in nearby Glen Lochay and around Lawers. The February weekend meets can be combined to make a Scottish week of ski touring/gear testing/alpine preparation.

Please book early! Late bookings can lead to disappointment as some meets are heavily oversubscribed and late bookings can make difficulties for the organisers. Note that some meets have booking deadlines deadlines in early December.

Summer meets and other events

The club organises a series of summer weekend meets - normally staying in a bunkhouse, youth hostel or camping, and taking part in non-skiing outdoor activities e.g. walking, climbing or mountain biking. These meets provide a great opportunity to meet other members of the club, and a welcoming environment for new members.

In addition, there may be specific training meets (e.g. for first aid), lecture evenings, and the AGM weekend provides one of the best opportunities to meet a large number of other members of the club. Full details of these meets for the coming year are on the detailed events list.

Please note that full payment in advance is normally required for all the meets. This will not normally be returnable following a late cancellation (or failure to turn up), since the Club is usually liable for booked but unused accommodation.

As a member club of Snowsport England, the Eagle Ski Club is bound by the SSE Child Welfare Policy. The Club also has its own Child Welfare Policy, in accordance with which, children under 18, (whether members or not) are accepted on meets at the organiser's discretion, and normally only where a parent or legal guardian attends the meet and takes responsibility for the child. In case of doubt, please discuss with the organiser.

The Club Website is regularly updated to show the booking status and latest updates on all of the meets.
