I'm planning on going to the Britannia Hut in April, but it's after the end of the Saas Fee ski season (lifts close 19 Apr). I presume that means we'll have to skin up from Saas Fee rather than making the much shorter skin from a lift. Is that correct, or does a tourers lift still operate (say 1st thng in the morning).
An alternative would be coming in via the Taschhutte. Has anyone recently approached that from the Zermatt valley in late April?
