I wonder if anyone out there happens to know if there exists a list of ATES ratings for the touring routes in the Sunnmore alps. The Fri-flyt guide to the Troms area includes such a grading which really makes route selection appropriate to the prevailing conditions much easier. Using the chart on the following link helps to judge to some degree the risk entailed for a given route on a given day https://avysavvy.avalanche.ca/en-ca/the-avaluator-trip-planner. Should such a list not exist is there sufficient experience in the club to formulate our own ATES grades for commonly done tours? This could be an invaluable resource from a safety perspective for club members. Obviously whilst this would be an extraordinarily useful tool there would be many more considerations involved in deciding if an individual route will indeed be safe. I look forward to any help or opinions on the matter.
