Easy Hut to Hut route in the French Alps for Nervous Beginner

Hello Everyone

Off to the French Alps (Les Gets) on Friday for some (fingers crossed) great skiing and I want to take my girlfriend off for a really nice and gentle introduction to ski touring which may (or may not) include staying in a hut or camping along route for a night or 2.

She is a reasonable skier and very fit but broke her leg 4 years ago skiing and therefore her confidence on steep slopes is very low. I want to introduce her to the sport without scaring her and putting her off forever so it needs to be fairly gentle.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Day tours or multi day welcome and we are happy to drive to get there so don’t hold back if it is not in the Port Du Soleil

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Hi Jamie

I am sure there are some eagles who know this area much better than me, but I had a day on the Tete du Bostan last year.  Its a super safe ascent up a ridge, a pretty summit and a nice gentle ski down.  there is also a hut in the next valley, which would make a very good place to stay!  There is an English language Chablais guide in the Toponeige series.
