The Club has recently been contacted by Cara McGlashan from Canada, who is raising funds to support the Zanskar Ski School (www.zanskarskischool.org) in the remote northern Indian town of Padum, which is cut off by snow for eight months of the year.  The plan is to take a group of the most motivated ski students from Padum to the Indian ski resort of Gulmarg for two weeks of ski instruction, where they will benefit from mechanical uplift and advice from avalanche professionals.

Unfortunately the project does not come within the scope of the various grants available from the Club, but members may like to make their own private donations via the campaign's fundraising page at http://igg.me/at/ZanskarSkiProject/x/4183141.

There is also information about the project at http://www.mountain-minions.com/ and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/zanskarskiproject?ref=hl
