Can you recommend a good place to stay and ski for a warm up for a couple of days before meeting at Brig for a tour?

there is a lovely little ski resort above Brig (Blatten/Belalp) on the North side of the Rhone valley. On the other side of the valley going towards Visp there also some lifts at Moosalp. These give acces to some good simple day tours that you could do on your own.
