Has any got a recommendation for a cheap place to stay when driving from UK to Chamonix? I always worry about leaving a fully loaded car with roof box in some car park overnight but breaking the journey does make it a lot easier.

We normally stop at Formula 1 in Reims if we stop (http://www.hotelformule1.com/gb/home/index.shtml). The car park is secure, controlled by a key pad, and most of the rooms overlook yor car. There is also McDonalds for breakfast in the morning!
